Achievements

  • Increased usage of the compliance centre in GitLab by 178% - beating our OKR of seeing an increase in the usage of the compliance centre by 10% - by linking security policies to compliance frameworks, which solves a key pain point for GitLab Ultimate customers who wanted to be able to gain insight into controls that have been created through security policies and associated with a particular compliance frameworks.
  • Reduced the number of steps to onboard compliance team members from 6 to 2 by introducing new custom role permissions around managing and assigning compliance frameworks, which solves a key pain point for GitLab Ultimate customers that there were not enough granular roles that give users only the permissions they need to do their jobs.
  • Strengthened the partnership with Snowflake, a key vendor, by reducing the number of steps to stream data out of GitLab from 4 to 1 through introducing the GitLab connector application for the Snowflake marketplace, which solves a key pain point for GitLab Ultimate customers who want the ability to stream audit events to third party destinations, such as Snowflake, so that they are able to see, combine, filter and report on all the audit event data from GitLab.
  • Increased the number of compliance frameworks associated with projects by 11.7% on a month by month basis - beating our OKR of seeing an increase in the usage of the compliance centre by 10% - by adding the ability to assign compliance frameworks at the subgroup level, which solved a key pain point for GitLab Ultimate customers wanting sub-group owners to have access to the functionally provided by the compliance centre on the top group level.
  • Increased the number of active .com Ultimate licences using the compliance dashboard by 5.5% MoM by introducing new SAST and DAST scanner adherence checks in the compliance center dashboard.
  • Increasing the adoption of pipeline execution policy (PEP) in GitLab over compliance pipelines by 60% MoM by introducing a first class migration workflow to help customers migrate over from compliance pipelines to security policies.
  • Aligned our product with the wider goals of the company by introducing a way to add multiple compliance frameworks to a single project, which addresses a key pain point for GitLab Ultimate customers who were limited to ho many compliance requirements that could be set on a project, since users could only apply 1 compliance framework to a project previously.
